About Level 4
This class is for advanced acro dancers. It is recommended that students are age 10+, however, this is dependent on the abilities of the individual student. Students must be capable of all skills in the previous level before progressing to this level. The teacher will decide whether they are ready for the next level.
Level 4 is the class for those students who wish to learn or work on core acro tumbling skills such as front aerials, back tucks and tumbling. If you/your child already has these or is at a proficient level but can't do all of these or would prefer to work on trick variations and dance tricks, then Level 5 will be the appropriate class for them. If they would like to work on both their core tumbling skills and tricks and variations then please feel free to join both classes! There is a discounted price for joining both.
Classes are split into groups, and each group of students work in ‘trick families’, enabling them to work on different levels of a skill so that all students are working at a level appropriate for them. For example, all students may be working on front aerials handsprings, however, some will be doing these as dive front walkovers or some may be doing variations of standing front aerials.
GYM TRAINING DAYS:
Students in Acro Classes from Level 3 up have the option of attending additional training days once per term. These sessions will be held at a local gymnastics club to use their floors, mats and equipment to assist in the development of tumbling skills.
Prerequisites for Level 4
Students joining Level 4 should be able to confidently perform a side aerial, back handspring and front handspring. Having these skills will allow them to transition into learning Level 4 skills in a strong and safe way. Please get in touch in you're unsure which level will be suitable for your child and we will be very happy to assist you!
