At Acro with Amy, we pride ourselves on teaching our students technically correct, safe, and strong foundational acro skills - progressing all the way through to advanced variations and tumbling.

In our workshops. participants are guided through each skill step by step, with clear breakdowns and detailed instruction to ensure safety, proper technique, and full understanding.

All workshops feature experienced instructors, ensuring every participant receives ample support, spotting, assistance, and feedback. This structure allows students to build their skills and confidence in a supportive and safe environment.

CLASS DESCRIPTIONS 

Friday 17th July

Back and Front Handsprings Workshop

10:00am - 11:30am

A specialised workshop for students wishing to learn handsprings. Suitable for those with a solid handstand and front and back walkovers. Participants will be taught progressions and drills to help in achieving these skills. A hands-on class that will involve spotting and the use of acrobatic tumbling belts.

Front and Side Aerials Workshop

11:30am - 1:00pm

A specialised workshop for students wishing to learn side or front aerials. Suitable for those with a solid cartwheel, handstand and front/back walkovers. Participants will be taught progressions and drills to help in achieving these skills. A hands-on class that will involve spotting and the use of acrobatic tumbling belts.

Beginner Workshop  

1:30pm - 3:00pm

An open beginner workshop that will cover a large number of beginner acro tricks, including cartwheels and cartwheel variations, handstands, bridges, headstands, forward rolls, back rolls, shoulder rolls and variations.

Walkover Workshop  

3:00pm - 4:30pm

A specialised workshop for students wishing to learn or master their front and back walkovers. Suitable for those with a solid handstand and bridge. Participants will be taught progressions and drills to help in achieving walkovers. A hands-on class that will involve spotting and the use of acrobatic tumbling belts

Saturday 18th July

Acro Tricks & Variations 

9:00am - 10:30am

During this workshop, students will learn a wide variety of skill variations, acro tricks and contemporary floor tricks. These will be skills that can be learnt a bit faster than more advanced or progressive skills like walkover, aerials and handsprings, but still can be just as challenging and effective.

This is a great workshop for dancers who might be interested in learning variations and tricks to incorporate into their dance, to benefit their gymnastics or simply for their own enjoyment.

This workshop is aimed at an intermediate level. 

Skill Requirements: One-handed cartwheel, headstand, strong bridge and handstand,

TINY TUMBLERS

Saturday 18th July

Structured acro class suitable with play elements for 2.5 - 5-Year-Olds. These classes incorporate age-appropriate acro tricks, dance and games. 

Tiny Tumblers is a parent-assisted class, where parents are welcome on the mats to support their child as needed. You'll be guided on how to safely assist with spotting and physically supporting your little one as they learn new skills.

 

Classes are organised according to age so students can learn skills appropriate for their age and developmental abilities.

 

Students will learn skills such as:

  • Pre-Cartwheels

  • Donkey Kicks (Pre-handstands)

  • Rock and Rolls

  • Pre Forward Rolls

  • Balancing

  • Table Tops (Baby Bridges)

  • Crab/Bear Walks
